Maël is a professional football (soccer) player for SC Verl in Germany. In 2015, he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maryland College Park with a specification in energy systems. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Germany to pursue a career in football. During his career, he realized that no matter where he went or where he played, no club seemed to realize the importance and financial possibilities of environmental sustainability.
In reality, that’s not always the case. There's a gap between what a club wants in terms of sustainability and what they can invest in time and energy.
